Welcome to Tuscarawas Valley Middle School. On behalf of the middle school faculty, staff and administration, I'd like to welcome students, parents and community members to the 2011-2012 academic year. As you already have heard, the Tuscarawas Valley Middle School was awarded the highest rating by ODE on state report card for the school year 2010-2011. The highest rating of ''Excellence with Distinction" was a great step forward in making Tuscarawas Valley Middle School the best middle school in the state.
This year, we will continue to include advanced coursework in our curriculum.Qualifying eighth grade students can receive Algebra I credit at TVMS. Ambitious and accelerated students may meet eligibility requirements for our Talented and Gifted program, which offers a variety of enrichment activies for students in grades 5-8. Along with this all students in grades 6-8 will have the opportunity to take GTT (Gateway to Technology) an exciting and highly vigorous class.
We also want to invite more parents and community members to become part of our P.A.T.H.S. (Parents and Teachers Helping Students) organization.Through various fundraisers throughout the year, our P.A.T.H.S. is able to provide support for field trips, student programs, teacher resources and much more. If you would like more information regarding P.A.T.H.S. organization, please call the middle school office (330) 859-8840.
